Ambassador Hiramatsu’s visit to Pune

Ambassador Hiramatsu visited Pune, Maharashtra, on November 29 and 30 to attend the opening ceremony of the technical center of HORIBA India. He also interacted with students and teachers of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Savitribai Phule Pune University.
At Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Savitribai Phule Pune University, Ambassador Hiramatsu talked about the deepening relationship between Japan and India, which is manifested through the good personal rapport between the two Prime Ministers, and expressed the expectation for an increase in youth exchange between Japan and India. He also described the attractiveness of Japan, which has high-technology, the cultural climate of respecting the traditions, and beautiful scenery, and wished for mutual cooperation to mark the year 2017 as a year of Japan-India friendly exchanges in the field of culture and tourism.
In his speech at the technical center of HORIBA India, Ambassador Hiramatsu touched upon the “Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership”, cooperation between Japan and Maharashtra in key projects such as Mumbai Trans Harbor Link and Mumbai Metro, and the expansion of Japanese companies in Maharashtra. He also praised the timely move by HORIBA India of opening its technical center to gear up for to BSVI norms expected to be introduced in 2020.
