“The First Indo-Japan Tourism Council” and “The First Indo-Japan Tourism Summit”

“The First Indo-Japan Tourism Council” and “The First Indo-Japan Tourism Summit” were held at The Lalit New Delhi, on 24th and 25th October. “The First Indo-Japan Tourism Council” was a bilateral government talk on tourism policies. “The First Indo-Japan Tourism Summit” was an event among industries organized by FICCI, in partnership with the Embassy of Japan, aiming at enhancing cooperation and networking among the tourism industries of both countries.

In the Council and Summit, approximately 200 participants from both Governments, the Embassy of Japan, tourism industries of both countries, including H.E.Dr.Mahesh Sharma, Minister of Tourism and Culture, and Mr.Vinod Zutshi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, got together under one roof and discussed the expansion of bilateral travel and tourism relations.

Ambassador Hiramatsu delivered his speech at the Inaugural Session on 24th October, and co-chaired “The First Indo-Japan Tourism Council” on following 25th. Ambassador Hiramatsu emphasized that “there is a tremendous potential for expanding travel and tourism between Japan and India,” and expressed his expectation that all the participants would “pursue ‘action-oriented’ outcomes” in a visible way.  (Opening Remarks by H.E.Mr.Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to India)
