Ambassador Hiramatsu's visit to Gujarat
Ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu visited Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on 30th September. He made a courtesy call on the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, H.E. Mr. Vijay Rupani, and visited Mandal Industrial GIDC Industrial Estate, Japanese Park, and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., Vithalapur Plant.
During the meeting with the Honourable Chief Minister Mr. Rupani, Ambassador Hiramatsu called for support from the Chief Minister towards infrastructure development, such as roads, hospitals and schools, as well as facilitation of land acquisition, in the area where Japanese manufacturing plants are under construction. They discussed some specific issues that Japanese companies are facing in the State. Possibility for further cooperation in such areas as cultural exchange was also explored.
On 1st October, Ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu made a courtesy call on the Honourable Governor of Gujarat, H.E. Mr. O.P. Kohli, and exchanged views on cooperation in the smart cities project, Japanese language education, and other issues.
