Send-off for participants of the “Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science”
On April 9, Ambassador Hiramatsu participated in a Send-off for the participants of the “Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science” (*) to encourage a total of 75 high school students and their supervisors, who were selected by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and would leave for Japan on April 10. On this occasion, Ambassador Hiramatsu also enjoyed interacting with the participants and answered their various questions about Japan.
(*) "Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science” (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science), organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), aims at raising the interest of Asian youth toward the leading Japanese science and technologies. Under the program, selected members of Asian youth are invited to Japan for a short term and they have interaction with Japanese scientists and students. JST, in India, implements this program in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
